Contract Subject Matter Expert (SME) – MSK Ultrasound

All About Ultrasound | iHeartEcho is seeking an experienced MSK Ultrasound Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the development and delivery of high-quality educational content for our growing ultrasound education programs. This contract role is ideal for a seasoned MSK sonographer with advanced credentials and a passion for teaching.

Position Overview

The MSK SME will serve as the primary content expert for musculoskeletal ultrasound education, providing curriculum guidance, hands-on training leadership, and subject-specific oversight to ensure accuracy, quality, and excellence across all MSK-related courses, workshops, and learning materials.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Development:
Develop, review, and refine MSK ultrasound curriculum, including lectures, modules, assessments, scan protocols, and learning objectives.
Course Oversight:
Ensure educational content meets professional standards and reflects current best practices, guidelines, and MSK scanning techniques.
Hands-On Training Workshops:
Lead and instruct live, in-person MSK ultrasound workshops, including learner demonstrations, scanning instruction, probe handling guidance, and image optimization coaching.
Quality Assurance:
Review course materials periodically, verify clinical accuracy, update content as required, and ensure alignment with ARDMS®, ARRT®, CCI®, and RMSKS-level competencies.
Collaboration:
Work with the Education and Content Development Team to integrate MSK content into broader ultrasound programs (POCUS, sonography foundations, specialty tracks, etc.).
Expert Consultation:
Provide subject matter guidance during course planning calls, product development meetings, and project reviews.

Required Qualifications

RMSKS credential (mandatory)
Minimum of 5 years of clinical MSK ultrasound experience
Demonstrated experience in teaching, training, or precepting sonographers, physicians, or allied health professionals
Strong understanding of MSK anatomy, pathology, scanning techniques, image optimization, and dynamic assessments
Excellent communication skills and ability to break down complex concepts for learners at all levels
Ability to travel for on-site workshops as scheduled (typically weekends)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with curriculum creation, e-learning platforms, or online course development
Additional ARDMS/ARRT/CCI credentials (e.g., RVT, RDMS, RDCS)
Prior instructional design or education leadership experience
