Responsibilities & Duties
- Conduct diagnostic medical sonographic exams including cardiac, general and vascular ultrasounds.
- Prepare and maintain sonographic equipment
- Produce high-quality images for interpretation by physicians
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and coworkers
- Follow established protocols and maintain patient confidentiality
Sonographer Qualifications & Skills
- Certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Experience in multiple ultrasound specialties
- Strong technical skills with ultrasound equipment
- Excellent communication skills
- Empathy and strong patient care abilities
- Ability to work independently
- Continuing education in the field of diagnostic medical sonography
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field
- Valid certification and licensure as required by state
- Proficiency with ultrasound technology and imaging techniques
- Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology
- Basic life support (BLS) certification
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow precise protocols
- Good physical stamina for handling equipment and assisting patients
