We are seeking a skilled and independent Ultrasound Technologist (RDMS) to provide point-of-care ultrasound services in patients’ homes throughout San Diego. This role is part of a concierge-style medical service providing wellness checkups, preventive care, and evaluation of acute but non-life-threatening conditions.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sonographer who values flexibility, autonomy, and patient-centered care outside the traditional clinical setting.
Schedule & Compensation
· Part-time: Approximately 8–10 hours per week
· Flexible schedule, including occasional weekend availability
· Gas and mileage reimbursement
· Independent contractor position initially, with potential to convert to a full-time role
Key Responsibilities
· Perform point-of-care ultrasound examinations in patients’ homes
· Acquire high-quality diagnostic images for physician review
· Provide a comfortable and professional experience for patients during in-home visits
· Perform a range of ultrasound studies, including but not limited to:
o Thyroid
o Abdominal
o Pelvic
o Vascular studies (including DVT evaluation)
o Soft tissue and other point-of-care assessments
· Maintain proper documentation and upload images securely as required
· Ensure ultrasound equipment is properly maintained and transported safely
· Follow all applicable clinical, privacy, and safety standards
Qualifications
· RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) certification required
· Strong experience performing multiple ultrasound modalities
· Confidence performing exams independently in a mobile / point-of-care setting
· Excellent patient communication and bedside manner
· Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule
· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
· Comfort traveling to patient homes within the San Diego area
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with mobile ultrasound or concierge medicine
· Background in point-of-care ultrasound environments
· Familiarity with digital image transfer and remote physician collaboration
