Ultrasound Technology Job Description
Qualifications: Experienced professional who has a certificate in abdominal and obstetric sonography. Experience working with ultrasound machines with the ability to obtain measurements, perform calculations and evaluate the results. Experience and knowledgeable with Word, Excel and Outlook programs, ability to successfully multi-task, excellent organization and time management skills, and detail oriented. Ability to interact with physicians, and staff as well as patients.
Work Expectations: Ability to perform ultrasounds to scan and examine internal female reproductive system, including the fallopian tubes, ovaries and uterus.
JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities
- Perform ultrasound diagnostic procedures in accordance with the physician protocol.
- Instruct patients regarding procedures for the ultrasound exam to ensure cooperation and optimum test results.
- Follow prescribed safety standards in operating equipment.
- Maintain ultrasound equipment in appropriate operating condition.
- Maintain examination rooms and work areas, ordering and stocking ultrasound supplies.
