POSITION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Manager of Breast Imaging is responsible for the operational, clinical, and quality performance of breast imaging services across designated sites. This leader ensures delivery of high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, optimal workflow efficiency, and strong clinical outcomes within mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and image-guided breast procedures. The Clinical Manager collaborates with radiologists, technologists, surgeons, nursing, and administrative teams to maintain an exceptional patient experience, advance breast imaging programs, and support staff development. The role provides direct supervision to breast imaging clinical staff and participates in strategic planning to enhance service offerings and clinical excellence.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides operational leadership and administrative oversight for breast imaging services across assigned locations, including workflow design, resource allocation, equipment operations, and environment of care standards to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care delivery.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable regulatory and accreditation standards, including MQSA, ACR, FDA, and state and federal requirements, while overseeing quality assurance and performance improvement programs to maintain clinical excellence and regulatory readiness.
- Partners with radiologists and clinical leadership to ensure imaging quality, diagnostic accuracy, and timely interpretation of breast imaging studies.
- Manages human resource functions for breast imaging staff, including recruitment, performance management, coaching, corrective action, and competency development.
- Leads patient access, experience, and care coordination initiatives in recognizing interdisciplinary collaboration with nursing, surgery, oncology, and referring providers.
- Contributes to financial stewardship through participation in budgeting, productivity monitoring, and operational performance management.
- Supports strategic planning, program development, and service line growth initiatives, including implementation of new technologies and screening programs.
- Promotes a culture of safety, accountability, compassion, and operational excellence aligned with organizational mission, vision, and values.
Requirements
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Associate degree in Radiologic Technology, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or a related healthcare field
- 5 years of clinical breast imaging experience.
- 2 years supervisory experience.
Required Certificates, License Or Registration
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Registered Technologist in Radiography ARRT (RT(R))
- Registered Technologist in Mammography ARRT (RT(M))
- Florida Radiologic Technology License
Required Knowledge, Skills Or Abilities
- In-depth knowledge of mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and interventional breast imaging workflows.
- Understanding of MQSA, ACR, FDA, Joint Commission, and state regulatory requirements.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to coach and develop staff.
- Proficiency in imaging PACS, RIS, EMR systems, and scheduling systems.
- Ability to analyze quality and operational data to drive improvement initiatives.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills to support patients, clinicians, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage budgets, staffing models, and capital/operational needs.
- Skilled in conflict resolution and performance management.
- Ability to lead through change and support organizational initiatives.
