Job Description: Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
Overview:
Dennis DiGiacomo MD LLC an internal medical practice in Newark NJ is looking for a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team. the ideal candidate will be experienced in vascular and general ultrasound, performing and analyzing various ultrasound exams.
Responsibilities:
1. Vascular Sonography:
Carotid Ultrasound
Lower Extremity Arterial Doppler
Renal Artery Doppler
Abdominal Aorta Ultrasound
Venous Doppler of Lower Extremities
2. General Ultrasound
Abdominal Ultrasound
Pelvic Ultrasound
3. Patient Care
Prepare and position patients for ultrasound exams
Explain procedures to patients
Ensure patient comfort and safety
4. Image Acquisition and Analysis
Operate ultrasound equipment to capture clear images
Analyze images and provide preliminary findings
Report findings to physicians
5. Documentation and Reporting
Keep accurate records of patient history and sonographic findings
Maintain patient records and equipment logs
6. Equipment Maintenance
Clean and maintain ultrasound equipment
Report any equipment issues
Qualifications:
Education: Associate's degree or certificate in diagnostic medical sonography.
Certification: ARDMS certification or equivalent
Experience: Experience in vascular ultrasound. General a plus.
Skills: Proficient in using ultrasound equipment, attention to detail, excellent communication.
