Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Ultrasound Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will perform REMs ultrasound examinations with precision, compassion, and professionalism. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic, no-stress environment, providing critical imaging services that support patient diagnosis and care. The Ultrasound Technician will collaborate closely with our doctor of physical therapy to ensure accurate imaging and excellent patient care. Technician will begin with one 8-hour day a week or two 4-hour days. Some flexibility in scheduling available. There is opportunity for increased hours as demand increases.
Responsibilities
- Conduct ultrasound examinations focusing on abdominal view of lumbar vertebra and lateral view of femoral neck.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort
- Operate EchoLight equipment to capture high-quality images.
- Maintain accurate documentation of procedures and findings in patient records
- Adhere strictly to aseptic techniques and safety protocols to prevent infection and ensure patient safety
- Educate patients about the procedure process and answer any questions they may have
- Maintain equipment calibration, cleanliness, and proper functioning for optimal imaging results
Skills
- Strong knowledge of anatomy
- Proficiency in sonography techniques and diagnostic radiology practices
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to ultrasound procedures and patient care
- Familiarity with Bone Mineral Density scores and how REMs compares with DEXA
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members
- Ability to apply aseptic techniques diligently in all procedures
- Compassionate patient care skills with a focus on comfort and reassurance during examinations
- Attention to detail for capturing precise images necessary for accurate diagnosis
- Basic understanding of physiology and anatomy to identify abnormalities accurately
