Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Ultrasound Clinical Education & Training
Contract / Per-Diem | Nationwide (Travel Required)
About the Role
All About Ultrasound is seeking experienced Ultrasound Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to support hands-on clinical education workshops and live training events across the United States. This role is ideal for passionate, clinically strong sonographers who enjoy teaching, mentoring, and elevating the next generation of ultrasound professionals.
SME's may specialize in one or multiple clinical applications, including adult and pediatric echocardiography, fetal echocardiography, vascular ultrasound, OB/GYN ultrasound, abdominal ultrasound, MSK ultrasound and POCUS. Candidates will work with new-to-intermediate learners in immersive, skills-focused environments.
Clinical Specialties Needed
Candidates may hold expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Adult Echocardiography
- Pediatric Echocardiography
- Fetal Echocardiography
- Vascular Ultrasound
- OB/GYN Ultrasound
- Abdominal / General Ultrasound
- MSK Ultrasound
- POCUS
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support hands-on ultrasound scanning workshops and live clinical training events
- Provide real-time scanning instruction, image optimization guidance, and protocol reinforcement
- Mentor learners at the beginner and intermediate levels in a supportive, confidence-building manner
- Demonstrate proper patient positioning, transducer selection, and exam workflow
- Collaborate with All About Ultrasound faculty and staff to ensure high-quality educational delivery
- Travel to training locations nationwide (weekdays, weekends and short-term events common)
Required Qualifications
- Active ultrasound credentials in applicable specialty area(s), such as:
- ACS, RCS, RCCS
- RDCS (AE, PE, FE)
- RVT/RVS
- RDMS (AB, OB/GYN, PS)
- RMSK
- POCUS Certification
- Minimum 5+ years of clinical scanning experience in at least one specialty area
- Strong understanding of scanning protocols, pathology recognition, and image optimization
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable teaching in a live, hands-on environment
- Ability to travel within the United States
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching, precepting, or mentoring students or new sonographers
- Multi-credentialed or multi-specialty background
- Experience with workshops, labs, or continuing education events
- Passion for education, professional growth, and clinical excellence
- Understanding of new and non ultrasound users and ability to teach basic fundamental skills to non-ultrasound personnel.
