Overview
Travelers accepted M-F, 40 hours/week, daytime shifts 8:30 am-5pm or 8am-4:30pm.
Two (2) years of pediatric echocardiography experience.
Within 12 months of start date: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer in Pediatric Echocardiography (RDCS-PE) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer in Adult Echocardiography (RDCS-AE) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) through the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
Duties
- Perform high-quality ultrasound examinations, including but not limited to interventional radiology, interventional cardiology, and emergency medicine procedures.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to determine the appropriate imaging techniques for each patient case.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology to accurately assess images and provide diagnostic information.
- Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures to ensure patient safety and compliance with medical standards.
- Monitor vital signs during examinations and report any abnormalities to the medical team promptly.
- Document all findings accurately in accordance with medical terminology standards and departmental protocols.
- Participate in continuous education and training to stay updated on advancements in sonography techniques and technologies.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sonographer, preferably with exposure to cath lab environments or Level I/II trauma centers.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and sonography principles.
- Familiarity with cardiac catheterization, telemetry, and emergency medicine practices is highly desirable.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in fast-paced settings.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and collaborating with healthcare teams.
