Job Overview
M-F, 40 hours/week, daytime shifts 8:30 am-5pm or 8am-4:30pm.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations on patients, including but not limited to abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, and vascular studies.
- Collaborate with physicians to discuss findings and provide relevant information for patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures to maintain patient safety and prevent infection.
- Monitor and record vital signs during examinations as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of all procedures performed and ensure compliance with medical protocols and standards.
- Assist in interventional procedures within the cath lab, including interventional cardiology and cardiac catheterization when required.
- Provide support in emergency medicine situations, particularly in a Level I or Level II trauma center environment.
- Stay updated on advancements in sonography techniques and technologies to enhance diagnostic capabilities.
Requirements
- Proven experience in sonography with a strong background in diagnostic evaluation and imaging techniques.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and vital signs is essential.
- Experience in interventional radiology and interventional cardiology is preferred.
- Familiarity with telemetry systems and emergency medicine practices is advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively within a team while also being self-motivated to perform tasks independently.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare professionals alike.
