The Women’s Group of Northwestern is looking for an experienced, clinically trained, proactive, and patient-friendly PRN Ultrasound Technician (Sonographer) for 3 days per week. This position does have the opportunity transition to a part time or full time role. This person will perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations for subsequent evaluation and treatment by the physicians in the specialty of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Duties and responsibilities include:
· Performing all ultrasound techniques and examinations for obstetrics and gynecology patients.
· Assist physicians in ultrasound guided procedures and Sonohysterography.
· Using cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological information and images.
· Maintaining ultrasound results in tracking system.
· Analyzing sonograms, synthesizes sonographic information and medical history and communicates findings to the appropriate physician.
· Demonstrating sensitivity to patient comfort and privacy while they are in the sonographer’s care.
· Maintaining ultrasound equipment and work area, including supplies.
· Participating in continuing education to maintain knowledge of current trends in the field to enhance expertise.
· Ensuring delivery of quality services. Acts as an educational resource and is available for consultation to medical, nursing, and administrative staff.
· Maintaining communication to ensure a smooth operation and continuity of care.
· Preparing daily accurate billing of all ultrasound procedures.
· Entering and retrieving data from EMR.
· Assisting with providing in-service education in techniques and proper use of equipment.
· Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications:
· Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and possess a warm and friendly demeanor.
· Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a collaborative environment.
· Ability to adapt quickly and respond to patient needs.
· Must be capable of pushing, pulling, bending, lifting, and twisting.
· Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time while performing exams.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience in breast ultrasound imaging.
Education/Certifications/Experience Requirements:
· High school diploma.
· Graduate of an approved school of sonography.
· Minimum of 2 years as a staff sonographer with obstetrics/gynecological experience.
· ARDMS Registered, specifically Obstetrics and Gynecology-RDMS.
· CPR Certified.
Pay: Up to $100,000.00 per year
