Responsibilities
- Conduct ultrasound procedures with precision, focusing on areas such as maternal-fetal medicine and obstetrics/gynecology (Ob/Gyn) to produce clear, detailed images.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures, ensuring comfort, and maintaining a professional rapport throughout the process.
- Operate ultrasound equipment safely and effectively, adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to interpret imaging results accurately and provide comprehensive reports.
- Maintain detailed documentation of procedures, patient information, and imaging data in compliance with hospital policies.
- Ensure the proper maintenance and calibration of ultrasound equipment for optimal performance.
- Stay current with advancements in sonography, medical imaging techniques, and relevant medical terminology to enhance diagnostic accuracy.
Requirements
- Proven experience in sonography with a strong understanding of anatomy knowledge and physiology relevant to obstetrics, gynecology, and general diagnostic radiology.
- Certification or licensure as an Ultrasound Technologist or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
- Expertise in maternal-fetal medicine, obstetric ultrasound, and related specialties is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, aseptic technique, and patient care best practices to ensure safety and comfort.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and team members to facilitate smooth workflow and accurate information exchange.
- Familiarity with medical imaging equipment operation, anatomy knowledge, and diagnostic radiology principles.
