Overview:

Schedule: Part-Time, 9:00 PM-5:30 AM, Rotating Weekday, Weekend and Holidays. On-call rotation.

Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The primary function for the Ultrasound Technician I is to perform Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound procedures in accordance with established standards of the Radiology Department, and under the supervision of the Radiologist. Must be able to distinguish normal vs abnormal anatomical findings, and demonstrate the ability to record the most appropriate images in order to render the correct interpretation. Medical Sonographer 1 are sonographers having 2 or fewer specialty certifications through ARDMS.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: 1 year Ultrasound experience preferred. Pediatric experience of at least 2 years is preferred but not required. Ability to perform diagnostic Medical Sonographic examinations. Hospital setting experience preferred.

Education/Licensure/Certification: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound. ARDMS Certification or eligible for ARDMS license, CPR, certified in 1- 2 specialties.

Pay Scale Information: CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization. Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
