SUMMARY: We are seeking a skilled and flexible per diem ultrasound technician to support our medical team on an as-needed basis. As a per diem ultrasound technician, you will be responsible for conducting ultrasound examinations and providing essential imaging services to our patients inside their homes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
● Perform ultrasound examinations using specialized equipment to produce high-quality images of patients' internal organs, tissues, and blood flow.
● Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the examination process.
● Position patients appropriately and adjust equipment settings to obtain clear and accurate diagnostic images.
● Collaborate with physicians to determine preliminary findings and assist in producing diagnostic reports.
● Maintain and operate ultrasound equipment, performing necessary quality control checks to ensure imaging standards are met.
● Document procedures, patient information, and results accurately in medical records or information systems.
● Upload studies daily to reading program.
● Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks during imaging procedures.
● Type of studies: Echocardiogram, Carotids, Venous, Venous Reflux, Arterial, General, Thyroid, Abdominal Aorta,
Mesenteric arteries, Renal arteries.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
● Understanding of the principles of health care and service to special populations
● Ability to travel between patient homes
● Excellent interpersonal skills, including friendliness, and empathy
● Strong communication skills required
● Valid Driver's license and reliable transportation
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
● Associate degree or certification in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field from an accredited program.
● Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification preferred.
● Proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment and understanding imaging techniques.
● Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology relevant to ultrasound procedures.
● Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
● Ability to work independently and in a team, with flexibility in scheduling to meet per diem needs.
● Attention to detail and adherence to patient confidentiality and ethical standards.
WORKING CONDITIONS
● Lifting up to 50 lbs.
● Travel around the Greater Philadelphia Area
● Bending, climbing stairs and getting in/out of vehicle
● Ability to stay standing or moving for prolonged periods of time
Pay: $60.00 - $100.00 per hour
