Job Description:
The Staff Sonographer performs a variety of routine and complex imaging procedures using high-frequency sound waves. Obtaining a quality sonogram requires technical skill to adjust the machine, experience to identify appropriate "windows" that can transmit an undistorted ultrasound beam, and diagnostic knowledge to obtain additional customized images based on the diagnosis and any abnormalities seen. This need to heavily customize the examination for each patient and recognize pathology sets the sonographer apart from other imaging technologists.
The Staff Sonographer performs diagnostic ultrasounds and other required modalities within individual department(s). Examinations are conducted independently, under physician supervision, and with peer collaboration as appropriate.
Schedule:
This position works a night shift schedule of 9pm-7am on Sundays, and 8pm-6am Monday through Wednesday. While not a current requirement, on-call duties may be assigned in the future if the business need arises.
Sign-On Bonus & Relocation Assistance:
External candidates who have not worked within our network in the past year are eligible for a hiring bonus based on experience, ranging from $10,000 to $15,000, paid out over several installments. Candidates joining us from a distance of greater than 50 miles from their previous role and home are also eligible for relocation assistance up to $9,200.
