POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Simulation Operations Specialist I (Sim Ops 1) provides foundational technical and operational support for the simulation center. This role is the tactical execution arm of the department, ensuring that physical spaces, task trainers, and digital recording environments are perfectly prepared for daily medical student training. The Sim Ops 1 is responsible for the setup and teardown of procedural labs, such as suturing, urethral catheterization, and ultrasound/POCUS stations, and manages the live, day-of recording processes within the center's audiovisual systems to ensure high-quality debriefing materials.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Room & Equipment Setup: Prepare, set up, and break down clinical environments for daily activities. Ensure the set up and return of the lab to pre-event condition and salvage reusable supplies
- Basic Technical Operation: Prepare task trainers, mix simulated body fluids, apply basic moulage, and perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance on medical equipment and manikins
- LearningSpace Management (Day-of Execution): Own the live recording process. Start, pause, and stop A/V capture for all scheduled sessions within the simulation management software
- Quality Control: Perform rigorous technical checks on cameras and microphones prior to OSCEs and high-fidelity events to ensure optimal recording quality
- Live Event Support: Assist faculty in the control room by live-monitoring scenarios, operating basic mannequin functions under direction, and dropping digital timestamps or annotations into the video timeline for debriefing
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree(preferred) in a healthcare, technology, or related field
- 0-2 years of experience in healthcare, IT, or simulation technology. EMT, Paramedic, or basic clinical background is a plus
KEY COMPENTENCIES:
- High attention to detail and strong mechanical aptitude.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and clinical equipment.
- Ability to learn proprietary A/V and simulation software quickly
- Proficiency in Apple/MAC products and Google Workspace
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Requires physical labor, including moving heavy medical equipment, setting up environments, and standing for extended periods
