SITE: Mariposa Community Health Center
JOB TITLE: Ultrasound Technologist
REPORTS TO: Radiology Department Manager
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Position Summary:
Ultrasound Technologist (Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) that is
skilled, compassionate, and
detail-oriented in operating imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety
and productive
diagnostic images. Ultrasound technologists will operate high-level
ultrasound equipment to
produce and analyze diagnostic images of soft tissue, organs, and
vascular systems. Will work
closely with radiologists to assist in diagnoses while ensuring patient
comfort, safety and
confidentiality. Connecting our patients wellness and making an impact
with our patients care in
a positive manner.

Essential Functions:
1 Imaging Procedures: Perform High-quality, diagnostic, non-invasive
ultrasound
examination (e.g. abdominal, OB/GYN, soft tissue, and vascular) as
ordered by
physicians.
2 Patient Care: Explain procedures to patients, answer questions, and
position patient
for optimal scanning, ensuring their comfort and safety.
3 Equipment Maintenance: Prepare examination rooms, maintain
cleanliness, and
operate ultrasound equipment; troubleshoot technical issues and report
malfunctions.

4 Diagnostic Evaluation: Analyze images to identify normal vs. abnormal
anatomy,
select appropriate machine settings, and document finds.
5 Collaboration: work with radiologists and physicians to review studies
and provide
preliminary, high-quality images for interpretation.
6 Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, infection control policies,
and HIPAA
regulation.

Typical Physical Requirements:
1 Frequently bends, stoops and crouches, regular lifts, carries or
otherwise, moves and
positions objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
2 Assist patients in lifting themselves onto and off the examination
table. Assists with
patient positioning and movement.
3 Proper use of ergonomic scanning techniques to prevent musculoskeletal
injury.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:
1\. Fluency in English and Spanish, with the ability to read, write, and
speak both languages
preferred.
2\. Proficiency in ultrasound software and imaging equipment required.
3\. Strong communication, empathy, critical thinking, and ability to
work in a fast-paced
environment.
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required
Associate degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field is
required.
EXPERIENCE::
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a sonographer is preferred.

Certification/Licensure:
1\. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required
2\. Must have a valid Level 1 Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card or
apply within seven
working days of start date
3\. Must comply with all applicable immunization requirements
4\. A valid drivers license and an acceptable motor vehicle driving
record are required
