Monday-Thursday 8:00AM-5:30PM
Friday 7:30AM- 2:00PM
Salary: $30-$35 hourly depending on experience.
Certifications/Requirements:
1) RDMS-OBGYN Registered (1 year of experience preferred)
2) NT Certified (Preferred or must obtain after 6 months of employment)
3) Bilingual and Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (English and Spanish –Proficient)
Job Summary:
This job is responsible for performing obstetrical and gynecologic ultrasound examinations at a technical level in accordance with department protocols and applicable regulatory requirements.
Job Duties:
Executes all varieties of obstetrical and gynecologic diagnostic ultrasound exams & procedures. Must be able to perform all examinations in accordance with American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) standards and department protocols; and able to determine correct techniques to obtain images of the highest quality and resolution; and participates (along with supervising Obstetrician/Gynecologist) in the final exam diagnosis. Must to be able to perform sonohysterograms & hysterosalpingograms, if no experience in these procedures must be able to learn & be trained. Sonographer also serves as a liaison between patients, interpreting physicians (Obstetrician/Gynecologist) and referring providers; explains testing procedures to patient; ensures that emergent exam results are relayed promptly to the appropriate physician.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to independently stay on task and handle a full schedule of patients (up to 12)
- Communicate clearly and frequently with our team and patients to ensure the highest level of care
- Verify patient information, including problems and orders to ensure sonographic accuracy
- Prepares, sanitizes, and maintains equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment
- Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions, as necessary
- Positions patient appropriately for imaging and performs sonogram
- Analyzes results, identifies, and discusses finding with physician, enters and transfers images from the sonogram machine to the EMR
- Transcribe and generate imaging reports
- Enters appropriate billing charges based on service performed and patient insurance
- Transfers images to USB for patient, if applicable
- Obtain vitals for patients when needed
