Very busy Cardiovascular office is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to join our team. Average number of tests a day is between 7-9. Outpatient setting only. There is no call or weekends. The primary role of the sonographer is to obtain high quality recordings of ultrasound images of the heart and related structures for the physicians who will interpret the examinations.
License/Certification:
- RDCS through the ARDMS or registry eligible within one year of date of hire OR
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Experience:
- Two years adult echocardiography experience, stress echo and dobutamine stress echo experience. Vascular Ultrasound experience is a plus, but not required.
- Experience with GE and Philips Ultrasound machines is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Selects proper equipment; ie. Transducers and techniques for ultrasound scanning procedures.
- Demonstrates proficiency in the conduction and performance of echocardiograms on adult outpatients.
- Have knowledge of normal anatomy and ultrasound physics so proper display of anatomical structures is identified and recorded.
- Must be knowledgeable about the operation of equipment necessary to perform accurate testing. Keeps equipment clean.
- Accountable to report equipment concerns to appropriate resources; is able to trouble shoot basic equipment issues. Request maintenance as necessary for equipment.
- Completes tech worksheet with all pertinent data, calculations and observations recorded.
- Maintains a daily log of all patients and procedures. Maintains accurate patient files.
- Participates in department meetings, in service and QA programs as they relate to non-invasive cardiology.
- Maintains skills as RDCS/RCS with responsibility for obtaining necessary education credits necessary for registry.
