Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist
Pay: $50/hr - $55/hr
Location: Long Island City, NY 11102
Shift: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Contract Duration: 2+ Months
Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepare and examine all patients for ultrasound examinations in accordance with established departmental procedures and techniques.
Operate and adjust ultrasound equipment, taking necessary safety precautions to protect patients and personnel from electric shock and other hazards.
Set up, operate, clean, and make minor adjustments to ultrasound equipment.
Ensure that adequate supplies are available for use.
Assist in the orientation and mentorship of new Ultrasound Technologists.
Capture images and upload them to PACS, transferring them to physicians' workstations.
Answer phones, schedule examinations, and coordinate patient transportation as needed.
Perform other duties as required by the department.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
2+ years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist.
Equipment used: GE E9 Breast Imaging / Routine Diagnostic
Education Requirements:
- Associate's degree in Diagnostic Medical Technology
OR
- High School/G.E.D. AND successful completion of an accredited Ultrasound/Sonography technical training program.
Required Certifications & Licenses:
- ARDMS - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists).
