Ultrasound Tech I
GENERAL WORK FUNCTIONS
The Ultrasound Tech I position is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasounds for Women’s Health Clinic patients. This position works effectively as a member of the department; maintains the highest standards of professionalism; cooperates with co-workers to improve the quality of work and works diligently to improve the department’s processes and procedures. This position is directly supervised by
the Women’s Health Clinic Supervisor.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum:
Graduation from a two-year program from a community/technical college with an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Diagnostic Ultrasound or closely related field.
Equivalent & Additional Training/Experience:
An equivalent combination of education and experience. On the job training can suffice for part
but not all requirements.
Required Licensure or Certification:
Must be certified as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) and be certified in OB/GYN and have a valid NC Driver’s License.
