I’m partnered with a growing biotech seeking a highly hands-on Manager, Preclinical Studies to lead imaging-driven in vivo research supporting translational oncology and biodistribution programs.
This role is centered on small-animal imaging in rodents, with strong preference for candidates who have direct experience performing radioactive or nuclear imaging studies (e.g., PET/SPECT).
The position combines imaging ownership with mouse tumor study execution and meaningful involvement in regulatory and documentation processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently design and execute mouse tumor efficacy and biodistribution studies
- Perform and support small-animal imaging workflows (PET/SPECT preferred; other modalities relevant with demonstrated depth)
- Conduct rodent dosing, monitoring, necropsy, and tissue harvest supporting imaging endpoints
- Coordinate imaging study logistics, including tracer administration and timing of imaging readouts
- Draft and maintain SOPs, study documentation, and protocol amendments with strong documentation rigor
- Serve as an active contributor to IACUC protocol strategy, compliance, and recordkeeping
- Collaborate cross-functionally with imaging, radiochemistry, and translational research teams
- Support vivarium operations and preclinical infrastructure as programs expand
Qualifications
- Direct hands-on experience performing small-animal imaging studies in rodents
- Familiarity with radioactive or nuclear imaging workflows (PET/SPECT strongly preferred)
- Experience executing mouse tumor or biodistribution studies independently
- Strong rodent handling and dosing proficiency across multiple routes
- Clear working knowledge of IACUC processes and compliance expectations
- Experience working in structured research environments with strong SOP and documentation practices
