Role Description
This is a Per-Diem/Temporary leave coverage on-site role for an Ultrasound Technologist at Medical Associates of Rhode Island. The Ultrasound Technologist will be responsible for conducting ultrasound scans on patients and working closely with radiologists and physicians to provide accurate and timely results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, explain, and operate ultrasound for all ultrasound studies independently
- Perform general ultrasound imaging. Breast exam experience highly recommended including; dense breast and diagnostic breast exams.
- Communicate and ensure comfort for patient during the exam.
- Evaluate ultrasounds and use good judgment to determine if additional scanning is needed.
- Maintain and ensures confidentiality of patient images and records.
- Ensure that ultrasound equipment and tech area remain clean and operate fully. Report equipment failure to the supervisor and call service provider for applicable service.
- Able to multi-task and prioritize independently.
- Maintain ultrasound specific continuing education.
- Ability to communicate results efficiently to ordering doctors and Radiologists.
- Ensure that QA/QC is maintained within regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications
- American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certifications
- Experience in general ultrasound scanning (2 or more years preferred.)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently
- Associate's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field
- BLS certification
- General knowledge of anatomy and pathology related to ultrasound
