Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Ultrasound Technologist to join our team on a per diem basis. The ideal candidate will specialize in performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations of the kidneys, bladder, and specialized vascular studies, including penile Doppler imaging to evaluate blood flow. This role requires independent judgment in identifying, recording, and analyzing normal and pathological findings, ensuring patient comfort, and collaborating with physicians for timely diagnosis.
Key Responsibilities
- Imaging Procedures: Perform high-quality, diagnostic ultrasound scans of the kidneys, bladder, and retroperitoneal structures independently.
- Doppler Imaging: Conduct specialized Doppler imaging, specifically focusing on penile Duplex Doppler ultrasound to evaluate erectile dysfunction, vascular flow, and potential pathologies. Urologist will be present for these studies.
- Patient Care: Greet patients, verify medical history, and explain procedures to alleviate anxiety. Maintain patient modesty and comfort throughout the exam.
- Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain ultrasound machinery, performing regular calibration checks and troubleshooting technical issues.
- Documentation: Prepare preliminary reports and, if necessary, work closely with urologist to communicate findings.
- Safety & Hygiene: Ensure a sterile and safe environment, adhering to all infection control policies, HIPAA regulations, and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or equivalent.
- Certification: ARDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) certification required, with specialty in Abdomen (AB) and/or Vascular Technology (RVT/RVS) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of experience in general abdominal and vascular ultrasound, with direct experience in penile doppler imaging strongly preferred.
- BLS Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in using color and spectral Doppler modalities.

Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, bending, and reaching.
- Ability to assist positioning patients (up to 50 lbs).
Pay: $150.00 - $500.00 per day
Work Location: In person
