Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sonographer to join our medical imaging team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment planning. Duties
- Conduct a variety of ultrasound examinations, including general, vascular, and specialised procedures such as mammography if qualified.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the examination.
- Operate ultrasound equipment accurately, adjusting settings to obtain optimal images for diagnosis.
- Analyse images for clarity, quality, and diagnostic value; ensure proper documentation of findings.
- Maintain detailed patient records and ensure all images are correctly labelled and stored in accordance with data protection regulations.
- Assist in the calibration and maintenance of ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to interpret results and provide comprehensive reports.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety protocols, including infection control procedures.
Skills
- Proven experience in sonography with a strong understanding of anatomy and physiology relevant to diagnostic imaging.
- Knowledge of CT imaging techniques is advantageous but not essential.
- Familiarity with medical terminology used in diagnostic imaging and healthcare settings.
- Experience or training in mammography is desirable for candidates interested in specialised breast imaging roles.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure high-quality image capture and accurate record keeping.
- Strong communication skills to explain procedures clearly to patients and collaborate effectively with medical teams.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining compassion and professionalism at all times. Job Type: Contract
Pay: $2,200.00 - $2,300.00 per week
