Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations with precision, ensuring high-quality imaging for accurate interpretation by physicians.
- Assist in interventional procedures such as cardiac catheterization and other minimally invasive treatments by providing real-time imaging support.
- Monitor and document vital signs and physiological data during procedures to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
- Apply aseptic techniques diligently to maintain sterile environments during invasive procedures within the cath lab or trauma settings.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology to accurately identify structures and abnormalities during imaging.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations across various clinical settings, including Level I Trauma Centers, Level II Trauma Centers, and emergency departments.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care, especially in high-pressure situations like trauma or emergency medicine cases.
- Maintain detailed records of procedures, images, and patient information while adhering to confidentiality standards.
- Stay current with advancements in sonography technology and techniques related to interventional radiology, interventional cardiology, and other specialized fields.
Experience
- Proven experience performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures in diverse clinical environments such as trauma centers or emergency departments.
- Familiarity with interventional radiology procedures including cardiac catheterization and other minimally invasive interventions.
- Knowledge of physiology principles relevant to cardiac function, vital signs monitoring, and anatomy for accurate imaging interpretation.
- Hands-on experience working within cath labs or similar settings requiring strict aseptic techniques and sterile procedures.
- Prior exposure to Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable, demonstrating capability to handle complex cases under pressure.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and diagnostic evaluation processes essential for effective communication with healthcare teams.
- Ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced environments such as emergency medicine units or trauma response teams.
