Job Description: As a Travel Ultrasound Technologist, you will perform high-quality diagnostic sonographic examinations across multiple specialties. Your expertise will play a crucial role in supporting physicians with accurate and timely imaging to assist in diagnosis and treatment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform OB, vascular, and abdominal ultrasound examinations in accordance with established protocols and physician orders
- Operate ultrasound equipment and adjust technical factors to ensure optimal image quality
- Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures, explaining processes and ensuring comfort
- Analyze images for diagnostic quality and collaborate with radiologists for accurate interpretation
- Maintain proper documentation and adhere to facility and safety guidelines
- Ensure equipment is maintained and operating efficiently
Education and Certification Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
- ARDMS certification required in at least one specialty (OB, Vascular, or Abdomen)
- Experience performing OB, vascular, and abdominal ultrasounds required
- No state license required for South Dakota
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association
