Job Summary
Responsible for performing high quality diagnostic vascular and general ultrasound procedures. The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for the operation of a variety of equipment to produce images on the patient’s body for diagnostic purposes. Interviews patients, explain procedures, reviews test results with radiologists and referring physicians. Promotes the organization’s philosophy and ensures the quality and continuity of patient care. Call hours are not required but can be utilized if the tech is available and willing to come in on their own time. They will receive call back pay for this incentive.

Essential Functions, Duties, And Responsibilities
- Perform vascular ultrasound studies (venous and arterial duplex, carotid, abdominal, etc.) in accordance with established protocols.
- Conduct general and specialty ultrasound exams (OB/GYN, abdominal, small parts, etc.) as credentialed and competent.
- Optimize image quality while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Collaborate with the radiologist and referring providers to support accurate diagnosis.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Prepare patients for exams, explain procedures, and address questions with compassion and professionalism.
- Adhere to infection control, HIPPA and safety protocols at all times.
- Assist with quality assurance, equipment calibration and workflow improvements initiatives.
- Selects appropriate equipment for use in ultrasound setup, following exam specifications.
- Utilizes aseptic techniques during invasive procedures.
- Appropriately documents ultrasound findings according to established protocols.
- Understands and practices proper use of equipment.
- Cleans and sterilizes transducers, supplies, equipment, stocks and replenishes supplies as needed.
Skills And Competencies
- Proficiency in vascular ultrasound scanning.
- Strong knowledge of vascular anatomy, physiology and pathology.

QUALIFICATIONS (Required)
- Graduate from an accredited diagnostic medical program and/or ARDMS.
- ARDMS certification in Ultrasound
- Current BLS Certification.
- 1year of clinical experience including vascular studies
- RVT credential (Registered Vascular Technologist) within 18 months
Additional Desirable Qualifications
- Additional ARDMS specialty certifications
- Experience working in hospital or outpatient imaging center
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with patients and health care staff.
