Job Purpose: Responsible for the clinical and administrative activities of diagnostic ultrasound services, as well as for providing detailed ultrasound imaging of the female reproductive system to help identify the causes of infertility and to guide fertility treatments. The Ultrasound Manager is also responsible for the implementation of quality assurance/control programs, regulatory compliance, and staff training. This is a responsible position that must demonstrate excellent analytical and critical thinking skills to optimize resources and maximize patient results.
Essential Functions and Accountabilities:
- Collaborates with physicians, other medical providers, and patients by providing expert care and service for fertility treatments
- Establishes personal rapport with patients
- Performs detailed sonographic examinations of female reproductive systems and identifies abnormalities
- Responsible for generating and documenting ultrasound reports for physician interpretation
- Procedure set-up, following all sterile precautions.
- Performs and provides explanations of procedures, including Sonohysterograms, FemVue, and Ultrasound guidance for embryo transfers
- Tracks fetal growth and development up to 9 weeks gestational age
- Maintains ultrasound equipment
- Orders ultrasound supplies and keeps rooms stocked
- Travel to other Company locations as needed
- Rotating holiday and weekend morning shift coverage
Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Responsible for hiring, training and performance of imaging personnel.
- Ensure that team members have the necessary training for proper performance and development.
- Collaborate with other department leadership to address patient concerns and improve clinical processes
- Collaborate with ultrasound team to accomplish department goals
- Maintain organization of team members’ timesheets, PTO, etc. to ensure that tasks are properly carried out.
- Transmit the Company’s policies (health and safety, labor legislation, training, etc.) to ensure compliance.
- Attends leadership meetings weekly
Academic Training:
- Completion of formal Ultrasound training - required
- ARDMS certification with OB/GYN specialization - required
- Current BLS Certification – required
Position Requirements/Experience:
- Previous experience in women's health or reproductive endocrinology and infertility – preferred
- 2-4 years of experience as an ultrasound technologist – required
Technical Skills:
- Ability to effectively operate all pieces of equipment utilized within the scope of this job.
- Proficient in computer programs including Excel, Word, and Outlook preferred.
