Job Summary:
Outpatient facility in Bloomington, IN - 4x10 Day shift (7AM - 530PM) An Ultrasound Technician, or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, is a healthcare professional responsible for operating ultrasound imaging equipment to capture images of patients’ internal organs, tissues, and blood flow for diagnostic purposes. They work closely with physicians to help diagnose and monitor a variety of medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate ultrasound equipment to perform diagnostic examinations using high-frequency sound waves.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring comfort.
- Review patient medical history and physician’s instructions to determine appropriate imaging procedures.
- Capture clear and accurate images for diagnosis, ensuring the correct body areas are scanned.
- Analyze and select the best images for interpretation by a radiologist or physician.
- Maintain detailed patient records and imaging results.
- Ensure proper functioning, cleanliness, and maintenance of ultrasound equipment.
- Follow safety protocols and infection control procedures.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care.
- Stay updated on advancements in sonographic technology and practices.
Qualifications:
- Breast experience preferred
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field.
- Certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or equivalent.
- BLS certification may be required.
- Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
