Ultrasound Specialist
We are seeking a skilled Ultrasound Specialist to perform high-quality ultrasound procedures as requested by physicians. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of sonographic procedures, equipment, and anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform ultrasound procedures with precision and quality
- Identify and analyze complex anatomy and assist doctors with invasive procedures
- Provide exceptional patient care while obtaining diagnostic-quality images for interpretation by Radiologists
- Collaborate with Radiologists, Doctors, and Surgeons to anticipate their needs during procedures
Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; graduation from an accredited ultrasound program is mandatory.
Certifications/Licenses: A.R.D.M.S. certification and New Mexico State license in Ultrasound are required. New graduates will have six months to complete the A.R.D.M.S. certification and New Mexico State license in Ultrasound. Registration in abdomen and OB/GYN is preferred, and OB/GYN certification is required within 12 months of hire date.
Skills: Thorough knowledge of sonographic procedures, equipment, and anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. Knowledge of advanced procedures such as biopsy and thoracenteses is also essential.
Experience: Minimum one-year ultrasound experience is preferred.
Supervision: Responsible to the Radiology Manager and lead Ultrasound Technologist.
Environment: Exposure to various body fluids, bloodborne pathogen C.
Physical Requirements: Lifts, transfers, and positions patients and equipment in excess of 50 pounds.
