Position Summary: Our Ultrasound Technologists, provide a variety of exams on inpatients, outpatients and emergency room patients to visualize internal anatomy functions. These technologists assist the physicians in identifying normal and abnormal results and communicate a summary of results found.

Position Requirements:
Education: Completion of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography required.
Licensure:
- ARDMS- required.
- RVT- preferred.
Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS)- required.
Experience:
- 2+ years of experience working in a diagnostic ultrasound department- required.
- 2+ years of experience in vascular ultrasound- preferred.
- 1+ years of experience with Phillips US machines- preferred.
- 1+ years of experience with Trophon- preferred.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Perform diagnostic medical sonograms, acquiring appropriate and good quality images for interpretation by a supervising radiologist.
- Ability to obtain and clearly relay an accurate and complete patient history to the supervising radiologist.
- Perform the minimally required safety evaluations on the equipment by following established guidelines to detect problems.
- Able to effectively interact and communicate with patients, physicians, and other team members in a collaborative and professional manner.
- Knowledge and understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
Essential Job Functions
- Maintain necessary supplies.
- Follow established department protocols to obtain the necessary images for a supervising radiologist.
- Ability to adapt and adjust to the patient's abilities and limitations, when necessary, to obtain the required images.
- Able to perform independently to complete a variety of exams.
- Attend and participate in department meetings.
- Participate in annual performance improvement education.
- Responsible for all other duties as assigned.
Physical requirements: This position is classified as Medium Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of up to 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Must be able to pass background check. We also conduct pre-employment physical and drug testing. Any job offer will be contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment physical with a drug screen, background check and obtaining active licensures per job requirements.
