Job Title: Full Time Ultrasound Technologist
Reports to: Ultrasound Manager
Status: Non- Exempt

What we have posted is our good faith estimate of what we expect to pay: $27-$39 an hour.
Summary: The Ultrasound Technologist works as a member of the Ultrasound team, reporting to the Ultrasound Manager. This role provides ultrasound based imaging to patients and supports the patient experience throughout their time at GLMI. Effective communication between departments and exemplary patient care must be maintained. This role performs a variety of tasks beyond ultrasound imaging including; patient calls, documentation in charts, and assisting with both patient and other co-worker needs. There are no call requirements for this position.

Duties And Responsibilities Include The Following
- Perform all duties of an ultrasound technologist including:
- Operating ultrasound equipment from various manufacturers.
- This includes the selection of correct technical factors tailored to each patient and exam.
- Assisting the radiologist with semi invasive ultrasound procedures.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, ensuring comfort, and positioning them appropriately for optimal imaging results.
- Verify accuracy of orders prior to examining the patient.
- Review previous imaging and tailor the exam accordingly.
- Review images for clarity, consistency, and quality, ensuring diagnostic accuracy.
- Enter data in the Radiology Information System, assuring accuracy and completeness.
- Provide detailed reports of ultrasound findings in written and/or oral form to Radiologists.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, provide quality control processes when necessary, and ensure the safety of patients in the department.
- Attend to the medical needs of the patient at all times, maintaining patient modesty.
- Clean the transducers after each exam, including the high level disinfection process mandatory with endovaginal probe. In addition, the technologist will monitor and change the disinfectant solution monthly.
- Ensure that the ultrasound equipment is properly maintained, performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting as needed.
- Operates standard imaging equipment/software including, but not limited to:
- Ultrasound machine
- PACS/RIS computer
- HealtheLink
- Restock supplies and maintain a list of things to be ordered.
- Assist PSR team and/or administrative staff when necessary.
- When available, help fellow technologists (i.e. change patients)
- Attend all required staff meetings, training seminars and other designated meetings
- Other duties as needed.
- Overtime may be required, as needed
Necessary Skills
- Ability to perform each duty as listed above
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and sonographic techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with patients and team members.
- Strong computer skills including use of information systems and Google based programs.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications
- Associate's degree (AAS) and subsequent Ultrasound technical program or Bachelor's Degree in US
- RDMS and RVT
- CPR/BLS certification is required
- 2 years of previous experience preferred
Physical And Mental Requirements
- May be asked to lift up to 20 pounds
- Standing, walking, sitting, keyboard use for long periods of time
- Ability to listen and communicate with patients face to face or over the phone
- Will be required to read, write, work in a fast-paced office setting
- Ability to make decisions and think quickly
- Must have mental and physical capabilities to perform all tasks listed above
