The role involves following clearly defined diagnostic sonography procedures to deliver high-quality images for the diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and prevention of injury or disease. The position requires integrating education, technical competence, and patient interaction skills to execute safe and precise procedures, ensuring accurate results in a timely manner. Building confidence and cooperation with patients, their families/support groups, and other healthcare providers is essential through competent patient assessment, attentive monitoring, and effective communication. Adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures is mandatory to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care.
- Perform routine vascular examinations using established procedures, policies, and practices to ensure optimal results.
- Operate a variety of complex stationary and mobile diagnostic equipment.
- Ensure that routine and priority tasks are completed within established departmental time frames.
- Prepare for and assist physicians in a variety of diagnostic sonography and/or guidance imaging during invasive procedures.
- Provide interpreting physicians with an oral or written summary of technical findings.
- Explain and educate patients on the procedure, medications or contrast media, and associated biological effects in a clear and professional manner to alleviate fear and anxiety.
- Use independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.
- Utilize cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information, and images.
- Perform examinations following proper procedure protocol, including correct positioning of the patient and giving proper breathing instructions. Operate equipment in a safe, prescribed manner ensuring quality and cost-efficient sonograms. Responsible for monitoring patient condition at all times while in the department.

- 2 years of experience
- ARDMS - American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer eligible
- BLS Certification
