Christie Clinic's department of Vein and Vascular is seeking a full-time Ultrasonographer (Sign-On Bonus Available) from Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.
This position will support Christie Clinic on University. The work involves a wide range of vascular ultrasound procedures. These procedures produce results for Physicians in the diagnosis of diseases. Graduate from an accredited Sonography program, Vascular Sonography license, and demonstrated clinical experience with vascular studies is required.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients with eye contact, introduce yourself, and verify correct patient by using proper patient identifiers.
- Verify correct ordering provider and exam.
- Explain exam and educate patients on procedure.
- Independently perform a wide range of Vascular Ultrasound procedures including Carotid, ABI’s and WBI’s, Reflux studies, Vein mapping, Graft scanning, Aorta’s, and DVT studies.
- Greet the patient, explain the procedure, prepare and position the patient, select appropriate transducers and other necessary items for the procedure.
- Verify that the exam on the worklist is the correct exam and that the accession number matches the number on the order.
- Evaluate the clinical history, and document history to record into the PACS notes.
- Recognize the need for additional imaging and/or positioning to fully illustrate the area in question.
- Adjust frequency, gain, depth, focal zone, size and field of view. Use harmonics or color Doppler and other factors as necessary.
- Verify the images on the PACS system, making certain that all images have arrived and all notes are correct.
- Maintains CPR certifications and all necessary CE points in accordance’s with the ACR and IEMA.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited Sonography program
- Have Vascular Sonography license
- Demonstrate clinical experience with vascular studies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous accreditation experience with ICAVL is helpful.
Additional Certifications/Licenses:
- Registered Vascular Technologists (RVT)
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 50 pounds. The ability to work in a dimly lit environment is required. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in an outpatient environment. Patient loads are high and the work is fast paced. Employees must be willing to work flexible hours. The work involves long periods of standing/sitting while scanning. The technologist must possess manual dexterity to be able to hold transducer while manipulating the Ultrasound equipment. Heavy lifting is needed occasionally, the room will be dimly lit during procedures, and the work may include emotionally stressful situations.

Pay: $64,433.41 - $88,595.94 per year
