The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing ultrasound examinations and identifying and communicating clinical findings to radiologists.
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Ultrasound Tech to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in diagnostic imaging and be proficient in performing ultrasound examinations. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care. As an Ultrasonographer, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and monitoring various medical conditions through advanced imaging techniques.
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality ultrasound examinations on patients, ensuring accurate imaging of the required anatomy.
- Utilize knowledge of anatomy and physiology to identify abnormalities and assist in diagnosis.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of medical terminology and sonography principles to effectively communicate findings with physicians and other healthcare staff.
- Adhere to aseptic techniques during procedures to ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Document all procedures accurately in patient records, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with Ob/Gyn specialists for obstetric and gynecological ultrasound assessments.
- Stay current with advancements in medical imaging technology and techniques to enhance diagnostic capabilities.
- Provide compassionate care to patients, addressing their concerns and ensuring a positive experience during examinations.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- College coursework guided towards ARDMS Board certification and prior hands-on clinical ultrasound experience in a hospital setting preferred.
- American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography ARDMS Board certification required. ARRT (R) and Vermont State Radiologic Technician license is a plus.
- Current health care provider BLS certification within 90 days of hire required.
